Working principle

Ion exchange method

Methods: Calcium and magnesium ions in water were replaced by sodium ions with a specific cation exchange resin. Due to the high sodium salinity, the scale produced with the increase of temperature is avoided.

Features and effects: The effect is stable and accurate, and the process is mature. Hardness can be reduced to 0.

Application: catering, food, chemical, pharmaceutical and other fields, air conditioning, industrial circulating water and other applications. The most commonly used standard method at present.

 

Electromagnetic method

Methods: Add electric or magnetic field in water, change the ion characteristics, change the deposition rate and deposition physical characteristics of calcium carbonate (magnesium carbonate), prevent the formation of induration scale.

Features effect: equipment investment is small, easy to install, low operating cost. The effect is unstable, there is no unified measurement standard, because the main function only affects the physical properties of the scale within the scope, the use time and distance of the treated water are limited.

Scope of application: Mainly used for commercial (such as central air conditioning, etc.) circulating cooling water treatment, can not be used for industrial production and boiler water supply treatment.

 

Membrane separation

Methods: Nanofiltration membrane (NF) and reverse osmosis membrane (RO) can intercept calcium and magnesium ions in water, and fundamentally reduce the hardness of water.

Hardness can only be reduced to a range.

Characteristic effect: The effect is obviously stable, and the application range of treated water is wide. High inlet pressure requirements, high equipment investment and operating costs.

Scope of application: Generally less used for special softening treatment.

 

Lime process

Method: Add lime to water.

Characteristic effect: hardness can only be reduced to range.

Scope of application: Large flow of high hard water.

 

Dosing

Methods: Adding special scale inhibitor in water can change the binding characteristics of calcium and magnesium ions and carbonate ions, so that scale can not be deposited.

Characteristic effect: less one-time investment, wide adaptability. The operating cost is high in soft water.

Scope of application: Due to the addition of chemical substances, the application of water is very limited, generally can not be used for drinking, food processing, industrial production and other aspects. It is also rarely used in the civilian sector.
