Lanlang ® TA467D Is a premium grade macroporous type I strong base anion exchange resin with polystyrene matrix and quaternary amine (Tributylamine) function group in standard Gaussian size distribution. TA467D has strong selectivity to capture perchlorate and decreased selectivity for other anions such as sulfate, chloride and bicarbonate. TA467D is designed to be used to remove perchlorate for potable water.
PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), namely perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, are a series of unnatural synthetic organic compounds, mainly composed of carbon and fluorine atoms, which not only have hydrophilic functional groups and hydrophobic alkyl side chains, but also have fire resistance, high stability and durability. Therefore, it is widely used in various industries, used in textile, surfactant, food packaging, non-stick coating, fire extinguishing foam and other fields, but because of its high thermal stability and chemical stability, it can persist in the environment and is almost not biodegradable.
Through FDA testing of foods grown or produced in areas with known environmental PFAS contamination, it is clear that PFAS in soil, water, or air can be absorbed by plants and animals, resulting in food contamination.
In October 2022, PFAS were detected in many locations in the United States, and the actual number of contaminated sites has exceeded the 57,412 sites reported.
Although the use of PFAS has been somewhat restricted, they are still present in many everyday products. In addition, they can also be found in places such as industrial wastewater, landfills, and sewage treatment plants. Therefore, to reduce the impact of PFAS on the environment and human health, we need to take steps to reduce their use and emissions, and strengthen the regulation and control of these chemicals.
