Ion Exchange Resin for Brewing Industry

Lanlang® TY MB-E is a high quality resin mixture composed of strong acid cation resin in H+ form and strong base type 1 anion resin in OH+ form. Ready to use as supplied. It is designed for all mixed bed deionization applications that require high resistivity and high capacity. It is particularly well suited for dental equipment, camera lens cleaning, metal cleaning, laboratory ultrapure water preparation, beverage and brewing industry.

High consumption of good-quality water is characteristic of beer brewing. More than 90% of beer is water and an efficient brewery will typically use between 4 and 6 liters of water to produce one liter of beer. Some breweries use much more water, especially small breweries. In addition to water used for beer production-mashing, boiling, sparging, filtration, and packaging-breweries also use water for heating and cooling as well as cleaning and sanitation of equipment and process areas. Each uses requires a somewhat different water quality too.

Water filter system is filled with polymer beads that contain either cation or anion exchange sites. The resin-impregnated bead has good permeability and great surface area, allowing the system works with high flow rates and low back pressure.

During working, the water flows through the media bed, becoming in contact with resin.The resin will exchange ions with water, removing the undesirable ones. There are four types of ion exchange systems: weakly acidic cation exchanger, strongly acidic cation exchanger, weakly basic anion exchanger, and strongly basic anion exchanger. Each type has advantages and is used for different purposes.

Lanlang is the member of American Water Quality Association. In 2016, Lanlang obtained WQA Certification with NSF / ANSI61 and 372 standard. And in 2022, Lanlang obtained NSF Certification with NSF/ANSI44 and 42 standard.
